New deal for Morgan Escaré

Best Catalans try scorer, second of the competition one try behind Joel Monaghan, he broke the Justin Murphy club record from 2006 with 25 tries in a season.

Morgan Escaré said :  “I’m really happy and proud to stay at the club”

“I love the club, it’s my hometown club and it's great to commit to a long-term deal with the Dragons.”

“I feel really good here and I’m really happy to sign this new contract.”

The club is delighted to have secured Escaré, 22, on an improved long-term contract, which follows on from his new deal last December.

Bernard Guasch, Catalans Dragons Chairman said : “He had two more years left on his contract but it was important not only for the club but also for Morgan to secure him a long term deal.”

“ He had an amazing season and we want to reward him for his performances and his involvement in the club with this new deal.”

“ He is a real talent, he is that sort of player Super League needs, able to create the show, and I think the best is still to come for him.”

Headcoach Laurent Frayssinous added : “It’s a great news for the club to keep Morgan for the next four seasons.”

“He has an outstanding season so far, he has scored 27 tries in 27 games, which is awesome.”

“He has improved a lot this season, his second in Super League, especially in defense.”

“He has to keep his desire to improve and to bring his qualities to the team, both on and off the field.”

CEO Christophe Jouffret concluded : “After Todd Carney signing, the Morgan Escaré contract extension shows our desire to keep our local products and to increase our efforts on youth player development, in particular with the launch of the U19 Academy Team.”
