Blanch named in Ireland squad

Catalans Dragons winger Damien Blanch has been named in the Ireland squad. Ireland Head Coach Mark Aston today announced his 24-man squad for Rugby League World Cup 2013.

The final squad includes a total of 10 Super League players and four NRL players.

Blanch finished among the top try scorers during the World Cup 2008 and was named Ireland player of the year for 2009.

The Australian-born winger, who announced last month his decision to leave the club to come back home, scored 7 tries in 20 Super League games this season.
