RLWC : Round 2 Review


 
 

13 Dragons have represented their country in this second round of the World Cup group stages.

All of them played in the England v France game last Saturday.

Sam Tomkins and Micky McIlorum were in the England's starting line-up and helped their country to beat France 42-18.

10 Catalans Dragons players started with France : Benjamin Garcia, Matthieu Laguerre, Samisoni Langi, Benjamin Jullien, Arthur Romano, Arthur Mourgue, Mickael Goudemand, Paul Séguier, Jordan Dezaria and Alrix Da Costa. Corentin Le Cam started on the bench.

Arthur Mourgue scored his second try in two games and Arthur Romano scored his first try with Les Bleus.

Thanks to their win, England are guaranteed to be in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. France will play a crucial match against Samoa next Sunday to decide the second team qualfied for the final stages of the competition.

Injured in the opening match, Tyrone May hasn't play in the Samoa's win against Greece and Dylan Napa, suspended, has missed Cook Islands' loss over Papua New Guinea.

Catalans Dragons future player Siosiua Taukeiaho was once again the captain of Tonga. After having won against Wales, they are qualified for the quarter finals.
