Sam Kasiano signs contract extension

Catalans Dragons prop Sam Kasiano has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Sam Kasiano, 31, has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will secure his future at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2022 season.

Born in Auckland, he started his career in 2011 at Canterbury, named Rookie of the year in his first season at the Bulldogs. He quickly became one of the competition standouts and was named Prop of the Year. After 7 seasons at Canterbury, he signed for Melbourne in 2018.

Former New Zealand international, he made 6 appearances for the Kiwis and played the World Cup Final over Australia in 2013 before deciding to represent Samoa from 2015.

Sam Kasiano already played 15 games this season so far. He made 55 appearances and scored 8 tries for the Dragons since his debut in 2019.

Sam Kasiano
Me and my family are very happy to be a part of the Dragons family for another year. Now I can focus on the rest of this season.

Steve McNamara, Catalans Dragons headcoach
Sam’s impact and influence on the team in 2021 has been immense. His ability to change the momentum of the game and the havoc he can create in attack and defence is a real asset for the team. We are extremely happy he has committed himself to the Dragons for at least another season.
