Benjamin Garcia signs contract extension

Catalans Dragons captain Benjamin Garcia has today signed a three-year contract with the club.

The France International has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will secure his future at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2024 season.

Garcia, who previously played for Brisbane Broncos’ NYC side, arrived at the club in 2013. He returned in Australia in 2016, signing at Penrith, but came back to the Dragons few months later and quickly became a key player in the Dragons squad.

Garcia, 28, has made 159 Dragons’ appearances and scored 29 tries.

Benjamin Garcia
I’m delighted to stay at the club for the next three seasons. I feel good in this club and it was an easy decision for my family and I. I enjoy playing for the Dragons. We have a great squad, who enjoy working together, and we can see it on the field with our results. The club has great ambitions for the future and I want to bring back some new trophies to Perpignan.

Steve McNamara, Catalans Dragons headcoach
We are delighted that Benjamin has agreed to a new three year deal. His form has been outstanding this season. He is a tremendous captain and leader who is not only driving himself to new standards but taking the other players along with him. He is a hugely positive influence within our club.
