Lambert Belmas signs contract extension

Catalans Dragons prop Lambert Belmas has today signed a one-year contract with the club.

The France International has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will secure his future at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of next season.

Belmas, 23, started playing Rugby League in Carcassonne and joined the club academy in 2015. He started playing with the U19 and then with the club reserve team in the French competition. He made his Super League debut in 2017. He played 16 games for the Dragons.

Lambert Belmas
I’m really happy to have signed a new contract for the club. After a tough season, it has been difficult for me to play some games. But a new season will start and I can’t wait to be back with my team mates, to work hard and to make my place in the squad.

Steve McNamara, Catalans Dragons headcoach
Lambert has worked extremely hard over the last period and has suffered the same frustration as many other players of not playing much in 2020. Next year will be a very important year for him as he tries to establish himself in the game day team on a weekly basis.
