Julian Bousquet signs contract extension

Catalans Dragons prop Julian Bousquet has today signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The french international has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will secure his future at the Gilbert Brutus stadium until the end of the 2023 campaign.

Julian Bousquet, 28, started playing Rugby League in Lézignan before joining the Catalans Dragons in 2012. Since his arrival at Brutus, he played more than 170 games under the Catalans jersey. Named ‘Player of the Year’ at the end of the 2019 season, he has scored 16 tries in 171 Super League appearances with the Dragons.

I’m delighted to stay at the Dragons and appreciate the faith the club has in me. I want to play here and to remain a one-club man and that’s why it was really easy to find an agreement with the club. I have to become a leader in the Dragons pack, the club trust me and I know it’s a big responsibility now. I have started all 3 games this season and I want to cement my place in the line-up.

Steve McNamara, Catalans Dragons Headcoach

Julian is entering the prime years of his career and it was an easy decision for us to extend his contract. He has established himself as a starting front rower and his influence over the team is consistently growing. He has matured and improved in every department due to a really strong work ethic and the new contract is a reward for the effort and commitment he has shown.
