Inside Super League TV Show

A new Super League television show starts tonight on Sky Sports.

Inside Super League airs on Sky Sports Arena at 7pm and will be repeated again at 10pm.

The show is produced by the Leeds-based production company The City Talking, whose previous acclaimed work includes Take Us Home: Leeds United.

It will also be available to an international audience (outside the UK) on Amazon from next week.

Episode one of 33 for the 2020 season sees Wigan Warriors new signing George Burgess make his debut as Inside Super League’s first studio guest.

There are also features presented by the former Leeds Rhinos player Lois Forsell, who’s been speaking to ex-clubmate Konrad Hurrell, while Australian journalist John Davidson gives his expert take on the sport’s big pre-season issues.

Presenter Will Perry said: “The studio is first class and it’s going to provide a totally new, fresh image for Super League which can only be good for the sport.

“We want to get to know the best players and characters in the game, so it was great to get someone of George Burgess’ profile on the first episode.

“There will be many more big names to come.

“The whole day was a lot of fun – and I hope that comes across on the show tonight.”

Davidson added: “The set looks really good and it’s going to be completely different to anything else in rugby league.

“It looks like a Nike advert and presents Super League as a top line sport.

“Hopefully the show gets a good following because it’s very professionally done.”

Fans can follow the latest from Inside Super League @insideslshow on Twitter and @insidesuperleague on Instagram.

Super League creative director Lee Hicken, the founder of The City Talking, added: “Last season while filming the documentary series, we were filming brilliant behind the scenes footage on a weekly basis.

"So for 2020 we want to share those stories on a weekly basis and add in a studio element with feature interviews and the latest news from Super League"

Episode one was recorded before the news broke of Israel Folau’s signing by Catalans Dragons, so that will be reflected in Episode Two.
