Preseason training to commence soon

Catalans Dragons will start the pre-season training on the 4th of November.

A large number of players returning on Day 1, including new signings James Maloney and Joel Tomkins and club captain Remi Casty among others.

The French internationals will join the group one week later after their matches in Australia. All other internationals including David Mead and Brayden Wiliame will join the group as soon as they return from competition.

Head of Performance Richard Hunwicks said: “We are aiming to have the full group together as soon as possible and the players understand the importance of a high quality pre-season together. The group will be working hard and putting in the training hours to be cohesive and physically ready for the 2020 Super League season. There will be some challenges both mentally and physically that will put the group in a good place for the demands of the weekly competition. Having kept close contact with the players, we know they have had some rest but will return in great condition for pre-season. We all understand we need to be better in 2020, as result the attack, defence and team elements to our training will take high priority. A great amount of detail goes into planning each players training and development from each coach at the club and the staff are expecting a very positive attitude from the players.”

“Part of the pre-season will involve the group training in the local area, and we greatly appreciate seeing the supporters at these sessions. We also intend to have some time out of Perpignan, again developing our physical and team cohesion. It’s an exciting and demanding time with some new faces and younger players starting to create competition in the squad.”
