Dragons Catalans – Strength & Conditioning Assistant (F/T)
Start date; November 2018

Reporting to; Head of Performance & Head Coach
Purpose of the job:
- To deliver technical support, coaching and delivery in areas of strength, rehabilitation, fitness, sports science and long term athlete development with first grade and reserve grade athletes.
Requirements:
Essential to have knowledge of rugby league or team sports at elite level.
Experience of player development in professional sport.
Practical experience in the provision of sports science with knowledge of strength & conditioning.
Experience in the design of individual athlete development periodization templates and their administration
Ability to communicate to a high standard in both written and oral formats
A higher degree in sports science and UKSCA accreditation or ability to obtain it within 6 months
Advanced computing skills and data analysis capabilities.
Principle duties/ activities:
- Ensure the physical preparation needs of the players are being met through regular monitoring and evaluation of the programmes including the screening and testing of players.
- Deliver field and gym based interventions to develop and promote best practice to identified players at all times
- Attend training sessions and camps in a variety of locations as required.
- Extensive travel with teams as required.
- Provide active contribution to new ideas surrounding sports science, data capture and related technologies for departmental progression.
- Maintain appropriate records in relation to player development/welfare throughout the programme.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all key personnel, colleagues and players as well as outside organisations in order to support and promote the player’s needs.
- To attend regular staff meetings in order to discuss individuals, training provision, fitness testing, and associated medical support within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the players development, health and progression is optimised.
- Carry out all the duties and responsibilities which may reasonably be required to deliver the services to the best of your ability.
