Thomas Bosc appointed as assistant coach

Catalans Dragons have appointed club legend Thomas Bosc as assistant to Steve McNamara.

A Catalans local product, he spent his entire career at the club and retired at the end of the 2017 season.

He has been appointed U23 headcoach this season and was working alongside Steve McNamara since the start of the pre-season.

« I’m really happy and proud to become assistant coach in this club. Coaching the Dragons U23 was also a great experience but I couldn’t refuse the opportunity to join the Catalans Dragons staff. I was working alongside Steve and the first-team squad since the start of the pre-season and this experience confirmed my desire to coach.”

The former French International playmaker, named in the Catalans Dragons Team of the Decade, has proven his unconditional loyalty by remaining a one-club man.

He is the best point scorer of the club history with 1173 points scored in 221 Super League games and the only French player to have score more than a thousand points in the competition.

“I’m excited by the prospect of Thomas Bosc becoming a full-time assistant for the Catalans Dragons. At the end of Thomas glittering playing career, he had a tough decision to make regarding which direction the next stage of his career was to take. Having watched and observed him with our reserve grade, I’m convinced he has the qualities that it will take to be a very good coach. I’m looking forward to working alongside him and seeing the positive impact he will make on the team.”
