New deal for Thibaud Margalet

Catalans Dragons loose forward Thibaud Margalet has today signed a new two year contract with the club.

The French International will remain at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2019 campaign.

Thibaud Margalet said: “I’m really happy to have re-signed for two years with the Catalans Dragons.”

“I love the club, it’s my hometown club, and I’m proud to represent the Catalans Dragons. Playing for this club means a lot to me.”

“I have worked really hard to succeed and it’s a great reward for all the efforts done.”

“It’s a huge honour to sign this contract and to see the faith the club has in me.”

The Perpignan born player, 24, has made 19 appearances this season, confirming his huge potential.

Catalans Dragons headcoach Steve McNamara said: “Thibaud is a young man with a tremendous attitude. He has suffered some adversity in the early part of his career with injuries but his willingness to improve everything all day, both in practice and in game, has made him a valuable man of our club moving forward. I look forward to continuing working with Thibaud and seeing his continuing improvement but also the positive impact he has on the other players.”

Catalans Dragons CEO Christophe Jouffret added: “Thibaud is a local player, proud of his culture and his jersey. He was one of our priorities and we are delighted to keep him at the club, despite several offers from UK. He can now focus on continuing his progression to cement his place in the Catalan pack.”
