Johnstone went over in the 29th minute, with Williams adding the extras, before Catalans got on the board with a try from Benjamin Garcia and a successful conversion from Luke Walsh.
Wakefield, having led 16-6 at the break, increased their lead through a try from Joe Arundel, but Krisnan Inu crossed for the hosts and Walsh kicked the conversion.
Trinity responded with tries from Matty Ashurst and Jones-Bishop, both converted by Williams, before Catalans scored their third try of the match through Fouad Yaha, with Walsh on target once again.
