A perfect kicking display from Luke Walsh helped Catalans Dragons make it two wins out of two at the start of the Betfred Super League.

The former St Helens scrum-half kicked five penalties and converted a try from his half- back partner Richie Myler to earn his side a 16-14 victory at Hull.

Marc Sneyd kicked an early penalty to put the hosts ahead but Walsh levelled after an infringement by Scott Taylor.

The Dragons were reduced to 12 when Greg Bird was sin-binned after 21 minutes but two minutes later Walsh kicked them into a 4-2 lead.

Carlos Tuimavave took advantage of a good pass from Sika Manu to score the game’s first try four minutes before the break and Sneyd added the extras to send Hull in 8-4 ahead.

Myler crossed a minute after the restart and two kicks from Walsh gave the French side a four-point lead, but Liam Watts ripped the ball away from Krisnan Inu and bundled over - Sneyd’s conversion putting Hull back in front.

Walsh levelled after Taylor conceded another penalty and when Watts was yellow-carded for a dangerous tackle, Walsh was again on target for what proved the game-winning score.
