Laurent Frayssinous has announced the squad numbers for the 2017 Super League season.

Seven new signings are included in the 2017 Catalans Dragons squad.

Luke Walsh has been given the ‘6’ shirt, Greg Bird the number 13, Brayden Wiliame the number 4, Sam Moa the number 8, Mika Simon the number 19, Luke Burgess the number 20 and Iain Thornley the number 21.

Alrix Da Costa and Paul Séguier, who have signed their first professional contract, have been named in the 2017 squad.

Laurent Frayssinous said: “It’s just numbers… The players named on the team sheet will be chosen by their performances. That’s why I prefer the NRL system, with numbers from 1 to 17 given to the 17 players on the team sheet. But that’s the rule in Super League and I have to go with it.”

“We have quality in our squad, with many players able to play at different positions. We use an average of 32 players per season, and I know I will have to call up some players from our U23.”

"I’m really satisfied of the group since the start of the preseason. The boys are working really hard and improving week by week. We are now looking forward the start of the season."
