Greg Mounis set to retire


 
 

Catalans Dragons legend Greg Mounis will retire at the end of the season.

The former French International loose forward, named in the Catalans Dragons Team of the Decade, is the player who made the most Super League appearances in the club history.

Mounis, 31, made 253 Super League appearances, scoring 27 tries and 146 points.

A Catalans local product, he is the last Dragons players still at the club who played in February 2006 the club first-ever Super League game against Wigan.

“It’s an honor to have played with Greg and then to have coached him. He has always embodied the values of the club. He is a tough player, who always wanting to put the club first, especially when we had injury crisis with many players sidelined. We are turning a page but he will remain a model for all, especially for future generations of players." said Laurent Frayssinous.

Club Chairman Bernard Guasch concluded: “Greg will remain among the iconic players of the Catalans Dragons. He was there at the beginning and remained loyal to the club throughout his career. He is an exemplary player on and off the field who has always given his best for the club. His body is exhausted by 11 Super League season and his decision to hang up his boots is courageous. The entire club wish him all the best in the future and we thank him for his invaluable contribution to the Catalans Dragons."
