Olivier Elima to leave the club

Catalans Dragons forward Olivier Elima will leave the club at the end of the season.

The French International, 33 years old, made more than 250 Super League apperances, including more than 133 under the Catalans jersey, scoring 33 tries.

He started playing rugby league at Pujols and chose at 18 years old to join Castleford and the Wakefield before returning to France in 2008 at the Catalans Dragons. But the difficult 2010 season and the many changes in the squad and the staff had led him to move to the Bradford Bulls before returning to Perpignan in 2013.

The former France captain played 28 test matches and score 8 tries with Les Bleus.

Olivier Elima announced on his Facebook account: “My adventure with the Dragons is coming to an end, I will cherish those memories on the park and in the sheds, there has been great times, and not so great times but I will focus on the good ones! When a door close another one opens, I can't wait to see what the future holds for me. I will keep my boots just in case! Thanks for the support.”
