Wigan Warriors spoiled Catalans Dragons' 10th anniversary party with a 26-6 victory in Perpignan.

A decade ago the French side began life in First Utility Super League with a magnificent 38-30 victory over the same opponents, but there was to be no repeat as the visitors underlined their Grand Final credentials.

Only points difference separates Wigan from table-toppers Hull FC, but they were initially made to work hard for victory in front of a bumper crowd.

An early Pat Richards goal put Catalans ahead and Wigan suffered a blow when Lee Mossop was sin-binned for tripping in the tackle.

However, the Warriors were inspired with 12 men and Dan Sarginson took advantage of a fumble to touch down before Ryan Sutton crossed.

With their full complement of players restored, Oliver Gildart finished off an excellent team move for the visitors and although Justin Horo pulled a try back shortly after the break, Dom Manfredi stretched Wigan's lead to 20 points as they ran out comfortable winners.
