Catalans Dragons ran in six tries as they returned to winning ways in First Utility Super League in style by beating Hull Kingston Rovers 34-16 in Perpignan.

The Dragons, who suffered a late 25-24 defeat to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the Magic Weekend in Newcastle, crossed five times in the first half to lay the foundations for victory.

Jodie Broughton, Todd Carney and Lucas Albert all touched down, Pat Richards converting twice, to open up a 16-0 lead around the midway stage of the first half.

A Kevin Larroyer try, with Ken Sio adding the extras, got Rovers on the board but Louis Anderson and Tony Gigot added further tries with Richards kicking a conversion and a penalty to make it 28-6 at the break.

Joe Wardill’s try reduced the deficit but Justin Horo crossed for another Catalans try with Richards taking his tally to 10 points.

Sio went over in the final minute, with Albert Kelly kicking the goal, but Rovers – beaten 40-0 at home by the Dragons in April - went down to a third defeat in four games.
