RFL announce three-year partnership with Dacia

The RFL has today (Wednesday January 27, 2016) announced a new partnership with Dacia that will see the value car brand become Official Car Partner of First Utility Super League, the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup and Title Partner of the Dacia World Club Series which starts at Langtree Park on Friday February 19 (8.00pm) when St Helens take on Sydney Roosters.

In just over ten years, Dacia have sold more than 3.5 million cars to customers in Europe and the Mediterranean basin. One of the most popular vehicles in their range, the Dacia Duster Commercial 4x4, recently won ‘Best 4x4 Van’ at the 2016 What Van? Awards.

To mark the start of their three-year deal, Dacia visited the homes of Leeds Rhinos, St Helens and Wigan Warriors, the three clubs that will welcome their Australian counterparts for the Dacia World Club Series in just under one months’ time.

Sam Tomkins, who returns to Wigan Warriors in 2016 after two years in the NRL, said: “With the start of the season just around the corner, everyone is gearing up for an exciting year of action.

“Having Dacia on board for the World Club Series is a great boost for the game. It’s definitely one of the highlights of the season, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Dacia add to the experience.”

In addition to their support for the professional game, Dacia will also be working with the RFL to support local communities to benefit the game at the community level.

RFL Commercial Director, Chris Rawlings said: “This is fantastic news having Dacia come on board as our newest partner. Securing a long-term partner like this is good for the sport.

“Dacia share our values and they have real passion to support Rugby League across multiple events and the community game. We’re looking forward to working together and making this partnership a success.”

Dacia Communications Manager, Ed Preston said: “Our new partnership with the RFL is very exciting for all of us at Dacia. With its no-nonsense approach and community spirit, Rugby League was the natural fit for the brand and we can’t wait to get started on bringing something new and fun to the game for fans.

“The Dacia World Club Series will be our first major activation of the partnership and we’re exploring ways of working with our dealerships to ensure that local communities benefit.”
