Catalans Dragons have reached to find an agreement with the Gold Coast Titans and Dave Taylor for the signing of the strong Australian forward on a two-year contract from the start of the 2016 season.

Looking ahead to joining the club in 2016, he said, “I’m really excited about this next phase of my playing career and can’t wait to join the Catalans Dragons. I have always had a desire to play in the Super League and I can’t think of a better side to be playing for.”

Taylor, 27, started his career at Brisbane in 2006, playing 49 NRL games before moving to the South Sydney Rabbitohs for the start of the 2010 season.

Taylor was one of the Rabbitohs’ strongest players during his three seasons with the club, earning six Queensland State of Origin caps.

The strong back rower or prop also made his test debut for Australia in 2012 ANZAC test and played two All Star games during his time at the Rabbitohs.

He then joined the Gold Coast Titans on a 4-year contract for the start of the 2013 season.

Catalans Dragons Headcoach Laurent Frayssinous commented: “ The signing of Dave Taylor is fantastic news for the club and the competition. We are delighted to be able to attract a such quality player to the Super League. He will help us to make one step forward thanks to his experience at the very top level. His speed, agility and capacity to offload combined with his size will make him a good weapon for us.”
