Dragons sign Richie Myler

Catalans Dragons have signed Warrington halfback Richie Myler on a two-year contract from the start of the 2016 season.

Myler, 25, has made 141 Super League appearances and scored 87 tries, winning two Challenge Cup winners medals with the Wolves.

Richie Myler said: “It’s a really exciting time to be joining the Catalans Dragons.”

“I’m looking forward to playing my part with such an ambitious club and embracing the French culture with my family.”

Having started his career at Widnes, Myler signed for Salford on a three-year deal in 2008 and contributed to Salford winning the National League One title, scoring 25 tries in 32 appearances in his first season, and winning the Co-Operative Player of the Year award.

In 2010, he joined Warrington on a four-year contract, making him the most expensive teenage signing in Rugby League history.

He has also represented England scoring 7 tries in 6 games.

Catalans Dragons Headcoach Laurent Frayssinous said: “I’m delighted to sign Richie for the next two seasons.”

“The club has shown its ambition with the capture of a such quality player.”

“His skills, speed, eye for a gap and his experience give him the potential to be one the best players in his position.”
