New deal for Jason Baitieri

Jason Baitieri today signed a new two years contract and one in option with the Catalans Dragons.

Jason Baitieri said: “I am delighted to have re-signed for two years with the Catalans Dragons . This is already my fifth season and I am very well here with my wife and my daughter. We have a hard season to finish and I will deal all the more serenely with this new contract. I am proud to be part of the club's future and proud about the trust he has for me.”

Baitieri, 26 today, made his 100th apperance with the Dragons this season since his debut in 2011.

The Catalans back row has missed half of 2013 season due to a knee injury. He returns to his best level this year with huge performances each week end.

Headcoach Laurent Frayssinous added: “I am very satisfied by Jason contract renewal. He was very unlucky with his knee injury in 2013, he has worked hard to get back to his best. It is a very consistent player in his performance each weekend and I count on him in the coming years to transmit his experience to the young French players. He's the kind of players that every coach is looking for.”

Club CEO Christophe Jouffret said: “Despite his youth, Jason has become over the years one of the boss of the Catalan pack.

His honesty, his physical commitment, sense of duty and courage since his arrival in Perpignan in 2011 made him an indispensable part of our squad.

The "son of Tas" has made himself a name in the Rugby League world and our club is delighted to have Jason for the next two seasons.
