Challenge Cup quarter-final draw

Giant-killers Leigh Centurions will face Warrington Wolves in the quarter-finals of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

Leigh, who followed up their fifth round victory over Salford Red Devils with a thrilling 36-30 defeat of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in today’s televised sixth round tie, will travel to The Halliwell Jones over the weekend of June 25-28.

The quarter-final draw was conducted  by Tony Barrow and Neil Fox MBE at Belle Vue following the conclusion of the Wakefield v Leigh fixture and gave holders Leeds Rhinos a trip to Hull FC in the last-eight stage.

Hull Kingston Rovers, who pulled off a surprise sixth round win against Wigan Warriors at Leigh on Friday evening, will also be at home in the quarter-finals when the winners of tonight’s Catalans Dragons v Featherstone Rovers tie stand in their way of a semi-final place.

The other quarter-final sees Super League champions St Helens host neighbours Widnes Vikings, who held off a spirited display by Championship minnows Batley Bulldogs to win 26-22 today.

Full details of kick-off times and television selections will be confirmed in the next few days following consultation with the clubs and broadcasters.
