A total of 65 Community Rugby League clubs register with Engage Mutual's community makeover project-Two will win makeover worth up to £5,000

Super League title sponsor Engage Mutual has received an overwhelming response from Community Rugby League clubs signing up to their self-help volunteering campaign ‘engage with your club' h –65 clubs from across the UK have signed up to the initiative which encourages volunteers to pitch in at their local rugby club for a day.

In partnership with the RFL, the ‘engage with your club' initiative aims to highlight the resources available to a club through its members and the wider community. Clubs are being encouraged to organise a volunteer day where members, supporters, friends, family and people from the local community can turn up and collectively work on renovations and improvements to facilities.

Two out of the sixty five clubs that registered – including community clubs in regions such as Edinburgh and the South East who don't have a Super League professional side in the locality – are also in with the chance of winning a makeover worth up to £5,000 for their facilities.

‘Enagage with your club' is supported by Brian Noble, Jon Wells and Lee Radford and Engage Mutual is also providing clubs with free online resources and guidance on how to run their action day and make a real difference.

Ex-Great Britain captain, coach and rugby league pundit, Brian Noble, said: "Community and youth teams are hugely important to the future of the game and supporting grassroots clubs is something that is close to my heart.

“This initiative is about more than a quick lick of paint, it is about inspiring communities to recognise the importance of their local teams and come together to help revitalise facilities."

Sky Sports pundit Jon Wells who played in 14 seasons of the Super League, added: "It's fantastic that Engage Mutual is supporting grassroots rugby league. It's the future of the game and the initiative is a great way of bringing a club and their community together to improve facilities. The chance to win a £5,000 club make-over is a real bonus also and would provide a huge boost for any set up."

The two clubs chosen to receive the makeover will be notified by the end of July 2011. For more information visit www.engagemutual.com/rugby
