Cardace added to France squad

Catalans Winger Damien Cardace has become the latest player to be called into France's World Cup squad, taking Dragons' contingent to 16 of the 24-strong group.

The 20-year-old player will join up with coach Richard Agar's squad today as one of two replacements for injured three-quarters Mathias Pala and Clement Soubeyras. Agar had already called up Dragons loose forward Benjamin Garcia, 21.

Cardace made his France debut in a 44-6 defeat by England at Craven Park last November and, after scoring five tries in eight Super League appearances, was given the number five shirt for 2013 but never got to play a game.
