Mike McMeeken to leave the club

Out of contract at the end of the season, Mike McMeeken won't extend his contract with the Dragons and will join Wakefield for the 2025 season.

The England international was keen to be closer to his family in England, but was nevertheless keen to honour his contract with Catalans Dragons.

He joined the South of France in 2021 from Castlefor and made 76 appearances so far for the Dragons.

Mike McMeeken said : "Firstly I would like to thank Bernard, Steve and Channy for bringing me to this club. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to play alongside some great players here and be apart of some special games. The atmosphere at home games, especially in the semi finals of the playoffs are so unique. I want to thank the fans and the community for welcoming me and my family.  This place will have a special place in our hearts. It was not an easy decision but I feel like it was the right time for my family and me to head back home at the end of the season. We have loved our time here and have made many friendships. For now we are only a fraction of the way into the season and I will still be giving my all every week to help reach our goal come the end of the season."
