Leeds vs Dragons : Match Preview

Super League | Round 14
Leeds Rhinos vs Catalans Dragons
Emerald Headingley Stadium
09.07.2021 | 8.45pm CEST

The context

Catalans Dragons travel to Leeds on Friday, July 9, in the Super League Round 14, kick-off at 8.45pm CEST at the Emerald Headingley Stadium.

Strong leaders, the Dragons could win their 8th consecutive Super League game by beating Leeds tonight, which would be a first in the club's history. But they will have to deal with a Leeds side that has been performing well these last days. The Rhinos have won their last 4 games and have beaten Warrington 22-16 last Monday at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Both teams will meet again next week, this time at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium, in the Super League Round 10. This game has been postponed last month because of covid-19 cases in the Rhinos squad.

Teams news

The Dragons will be without Gil Dudson, suspended, and without Micky McIlorum, injured.
Joel Tomkins and Alrix Da Costa are back in the squad.

James Maloney needs one appearance to reach 300 for his career (30 for Catalans Dragons, 44 for Penrith Panthers, 46 for Cronulla Sharks, 80 for Sydney Roosters, 75 for New Zealand Warriors, 4 for Melbourne Storm, 3 for Australia, 14 for New South Wales, 3 for NSW Country).

Here is the 21-man squad named by Steve McNamara to travel to Leeds.
