Danny Brough marked the 500th appearance of his career by leading Wakefield Trinity to their first win of the Betfred Super League season.

The veteran half-back was given the honour of leading the team out on his landmark appearance and played a big role in the 22-12 victory over Catalans Dragons.

The French side led 8-6 after 29 minutes after Sam Tomkins converted Samisoni Langi's try and then kicked a penalty, cancelling out winger Tom Johnstone's brilliant finish early on for Wakefield.

But the Dragons' indiscipline once again proved their undoing as the home team built up a head of steam to lead 20-8 at half-time.

David Fifita powered his way over before Brough, having booted a penalty, laid on a try for James Batchelor with a kick on the last tackle.

Langi's second try gave Catalans hope in the 56th minute, taking Tomkins' pass to force his way over, but Brough kicked another penalty to take his points tally to 10.
