Catalans Dragons have appointed former Dragons player Bruno Vergès as new Catalans Dragons U19 Headcoach.

A Catalans local product, he started his career at Saint-Estève before the creation of the UTC.

The former International winger played for the Catalans Dragons during the club inaugural season in the Super League, making 28 appearances and scoring 9 tries.

He will be assisted by Rodney Howe, who joined the U19 staff this season as Head of Strengh and Conditionning. The former Kangaroo Prop already had a first coaching experience at the club, having coached the reserve team in 2009/10.

New U19 Headcoach Bruno Vergès said: “Even if it was unexpected, I’m really happy to take up the role. It was important to make a quick decision following the departure of Thierry Dumaine for all the players who are training hard. It’s a real pleasure to work with these young players and to share my experience and I’m looking forward to continue working with them.”
