Catalans sign Benjamin Jullien

Catalans Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of Benjamin Jullien on a two-year contract.

The club has reached to find an agreement with the Warrington Wolves to sign the French International.

On signing with the Dragons, Benjamin Julien said said: “I’m happy that Warrington and the Dragons have reached to find an agreement to allow me to join the club. I’m grateful for everything Warrington have done for me but I wanted to come back to France to be close to my family. I’m now looking forward to join my new club and to work with Steve McNamara.”

Jullien, 22, can play backrower or centre.

Jullien started rugby in Avignon and left France a first to play down under for the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls. He then moved to North Wales Crusaders in 2015 before joining the Warrington Wolves in 2016 where he made 33 Super League appearances and scored 3 tries.

Catalans Dragons headcoach Steve McNamara said: “Benjamin is exactly the type of player and person that the future of our club will be built on. His honest, hardworking and professional approach is what the Catalans club was founded upon. Every decision we make both in recruitment and retention will be based upon these values. Benjamin had an outstanding breakthrough season in 2017 with Warrington and his decision to join us is great for our organization.”

Club CEO Christophe Jouffret added: “We were speaking with Benjamin and his agent Maxence Karoutchi for many months now and we are delighted to sign another talented French player. On behalf of the Catalans Dragons club, I would like to thank all those who have helped this transfer to happen, despite the final year Benjamin had on his contract.”
