Three players sign contracts


 
 

Catalans Dragons have signed centre Arthur Romano and winger Georgy Gambaro on a full-time contract while hooker Alrix Da Costa has also extended his stay at the club until the end of the 2019 campaign by signing a new two year contract.

 

Arthur Romano, 20, has signed a first two-year contract. The promising centre joined the Club academy in 2015 and joined the club reserve team last season, playing in the French Elite Championship.

He made his Super League debut this season and made two Super League appearances before damaging his Achille, a season ending injury.

Georgy Gambaro, 19, aslo came through the club Academy system and signed a one-year deal. The young winger, who joined the Dragons U19 team from Carcassonne in 2015, started training with the First-team squad this season.

Alrix Da Costa has today signed a new two-year contract with the club. The young hooker was the Dragons U19 captain since joining the club Academy in 2015. He signed his first full-time contract in 2016 and made his Super League debut last season. He made 18 Super League appearances this season.

Catalans Dragons headcoach Steve McNamara said: “I'm really pleased Alrix, Georgy and Arthur have committed themselves to the Dragons. It is essential for our growth as a club that we nurture our young home grown talent and develop them into First Grade players. I look forward to working closely with all three of these players in the pre season.”

Catalans Dragons Head of Youth Bruno Castany said :”I’m delighted to keep at the club three products of our Academy system. All three of these players have succeed in both their school and sport project and it’s a huge satisfaction for us.”
