After 12 seasons at the club, assistant coach Jérôme Guisset will leave the Dragons at the end of the season.

The former international prop joined the club in 2006. He retired from playing in 2010 after 14 years at the best level, having played 269 Super League games for Wigan, Warrington and the Catalans Dragons. He started his coaching career under Trent Robinson then Laurent Frayssinous and more recently Steve McNamara.

Also Catalans Dragons reserve team head coach, he led the Dragons with Michael Monaghan on an interim basis after the Laurent Frayssinous departure in May.

Jérôme Guisset said : “I would like to thank the Chairman Bernard Guasch as well as the board of directors. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity the club has given me.”

“Leaving this club has been a tough decision to take but, after 7 years as an assistant coach, I feel now is the right time to move on to the next chapter in my career and start a new experience.”

“I spent some great years with the Dragons, first as a player, then in the coaching staff and also with the club’s reserve team. I’m extremely proud to have given my best for this jersey and this club over the last 12 years.”

“Now I want to finish in the best way possible, leaving the Catalans Dragons in its rightful position, in Super League. Once the season will be over, it will be time for me to find a new challenge.”

Catalans Dragons Chairman Bernard Guasch said : “Jérôme is at a turning point of his life and I understand and respect his decision. He will discover a new environment and start a new experience, maybe to come back stronger at the club. Jérôme is one of the legends of our short history, who has always given his best for the club, as a player or as a coach. The entire club wish him all the best for the future.”
