Rémi Casty appointed captain


 
 

Rémi Casty will lead the Dragons in 2017 having been appointed as captain of the club.

The French prop said: “I’m really proud to be captain of this team, it’s a huge honor to represent the club."

"We had a tough 2016 season but the team is now focused on 2017."

"I know I’ll be supported by my team mates, with players such as Birdy, Sam Moa, Thomas Bosc or Jason Baitieri in the squad."

"I’m now looking forward to starting the 2017 Super League season.”

The French prop was the club captain in 2012 and 2013 and after his return from the Sydney Roosters in 2015 and 2016.

 Catalans Dragons headcoach Laurent Frayssinous said: “We have shared a lot since the start of the preseason on the club values, identity and on the team culture we want to build.”

“That’s why Rémi was an obvious choice in this role. He is a symbol of the club, a natural leader and is highly respected players within our group.

 “He is an example on and off the field, who always gives his best for the team.”

 “We have many experienced players in our squad and he will be heavily supported by a group of leaders.”
