Former Catalans Dragons reserve team Headcoach Steve Deakin has been appointed Club’s Player Welfare Manager.

The former Huddersfield, London Broncos, Keighley, Sheffield and Whitehaven coach is back in the Dragons coaching staff two years after having left the club.

After a first spell from 2003 to 2005 as headcoach of UTC, winning the French cup and League double in 2005, he came back at the club in 2010 as headcoach of the Catalans Dragons reserve team, guiding in 2013 the team to their first Grand Final since the introduction of the Catalans Dragons in Super League.

Steve Deakin commented: “I’m very proud to be invited to work with the Catalans Dragons, a club that is close to my heart than any other rugby club in the world. I promise to do anything and everything that I can to help the players play to their potential and carry the club to its highest level.”
