Catalans Dragons maintained the pressure on First Utility Super League leaders Hull FC as they beat bottom club Leeds Rhinos 24-12.

The home side have made a habit of throwing away early leads of late, and after Brett Ferres spun over for a sixth-minute try that proved the case again.

Todd Carney's grubber was touched down by Justin Horo, Fouad Yaha crossed in the corner and Jason Baitieri went over under the posts as the Dragons built a commanding 16-6 half-time lead.

Carney added a penalty after the break, but Luke Briscoe sent Josh Walters over after the away side failed to deal with a grubber kick.

But with the Rhinos desperately pressing for a late equaliser, Eloi Pelissier went down the other end for a last-minute try to leave Leeds firmly rooted to the foot of the table.
